The Marlborough are sorry to have postponed the 2026 Afternoon Tea from its original date of 25 June - because of the heat. However, we are pleased to announce that it will now be held on Thursday 3 September from 2:30-4:30pm.
Returning to the Hutton Cricket Club Pavilion, on Hall Green Lane, CM13 2QT, our hostess Nicola Parry will provide us with the usual excellent sandwiches, scones and cakes with lashings of tea/coffee. Please specify any dietary requirements when booking your places. Tickets cost £15 per person.
We will also award the Cass Cup to its new recipient, (see below).

Janet Cass Memorial Cup
In 2024 we inaugurated the Janet Cass Memorial Cup (click here for the review article) which is awarded annually to any Club member who has provided outstanding service to the Club over the previous year. Last year, Bill Wells was the second ever recipient – richly deserved after his successful production of ‘The Ladykillers’ in Spring 2025 and hosting the WW2 event last July. As with last year we would like to ask you as Club members to let us know who you would like to nominate to win the cup in 2026. Maybe you were impressed with someone’s acting performance or front of house demeanour? It’s your decision and the person with the most nominations will be presented with the Cup at the Afternoon Tea event on 25 June (see above). Please contact the secretary with your nominations by 18 June. FYI - Any 2025 or 2026 Club member is eligible to vote / be nominated. Anyone who works on a play, be it front of house / backstage or acting, has to be a member.
