Regretfully during 2022/23 the club have been unable to produce any major shows for a variety of reasons. One being difficulty in accessing Brentwood School since the Covid shutdown.
Brentwood School have been supporting the Marlborough Dramatic club for nearly 100 years, as the first show in Brentwood School was in 1924. If Brentwood School started to charge us significant fees for using the School this would be a serious financial problem for the club.
We are hoping this will be resolved in 2024.
One of our planned shows - Variations - had to be cancelled, and a loss was made because we had purchased all the scripts. Also the licence had to be cancelled which incurred an administration fee. We still have the scripts so these will be used if we are able to produce Variations in the future.
We were able to hold some social events - a Coronation tea and a quiz night which did make a profit.
