Thank you to everyone who came to our anniversary dinner on Friday 15 March at the Mount Avenue Banqueting Suite. We gathered to celebrate 120 years of the club's existence and enjoyed a lovely dinner, wine and conversation. Chairman Bill Wells also gave a short speech in which he thanked everyone for their contribution to the Marlborough over the years as well as how pleased he was that the club will be producing our next full play (since before the pandemic) in April - 'Visiting Hour' - find out more here.
He also spent some time remembering two club stalwarts who gave a lot to the Marlborough over the years, acting, directing and working backstage and front of house: Janet Cass and Patricia Staley, both of whom have passed away in recent times. Bill also announced that a Cup in Janet Cass' name will be launched this year, to be awarded annually to any club member who has provided great service over that year (acting / backstage / administratively etc.) More news on that in the coming months.
