Meet some of our cast for our Spring 2026 production of Kind Hearts and Coronets.
(There are others also appearing not listed here - come along to our show to find out who they are!)

Director - Lindsey Crutchett

Having acted since the age of seven, Lindsey has appeared in over 50 amateur productions across a wide range of genres including playing Lady Macbeth, Medea, Helene Hamff (84 Charing Cross Road) and more recently Ruth in Blithe Spirit. By day she is a teacher of Speech and Drama, as well as a LAMDA teacher, helping both children and adults to achieve graded exams in Verse & Prose, Acting, Mime and Public Speaking. She has 25 years’ experience directing children and young people in large scale school productions, but this is her first foray into directing adults. As she is used to having 80 children in a cast, 14 adults seem quite a manageable number! She thoroughly enjoyed playing the part of Mrs Wilberforce in Ladykillers last April for the Marlborough, hence the choice of another Ealing Comedy for this Spring.
CAST BIOGRAPHIES
Juliette Bird
Juliette did a bit of drama at school and university for fun, but then life took over and she left it for a few years until she found the Marlborough Dramatic Club in her hometown of Brentwood in the early 2010s. On joining she found a new group of friends and started treading the boards again with productions like Witness for the Prosecution, Relatively Speaking, Uncle Vanya, Northanger Abbey and Ten Times Table, and most recently 2025’s Variation on a Theme. She enjoys playing what her friend calls ‘flibbertigibbets’ as well as strident women and is looking forward to working with old and new friends in this production of Kind Hearts and Coronets.

Variety is the spice of life having been Winnie the Pooh, the Duchess of York & Madame Arcati & even a knitter in Dancing at Lughnasa (she can’t knit) & a seamstress in Ten Times Table (she can’t sew)!
Always a pleasure to work with Marlborough.

Since then, she has gone on to work with various other groups including Hutton Players, Romford Shakespeare Theatre and of course the Marlborough. Her first acting role with the Marlborough, was as Rose in Dancing at Lughnasa, and since then she has directed for them as well as acting. She is thrilled to be back on stage this April in Kind Hearts and Coronets, taking the roles of tour guide and Prisoner Governor, as well as part of the ensemble.

When she was a teenager, she sang with a country rock band for a short time and then in later life with a choir. In about 2013 she was introduced to the Marlborough Dramatic Club by a very dear friend. She has mainly been involved with behind the scenes activities but last year was given the opportunity to actually be on stage.

Other more recent acting roles in theatre include the "Newsreader" in "Return to the Forbidden Planet" and "Stella" in New Venture Players' "Cause Célèbre". Abbie is truly delighted to be working on her first production with Marlborough Dramatic Club. She is most certainly up to the challenge of playing two characters in the same show.
